The Book of the Month

Fallen by Lauren Kate

There's something achingly familiar about Daniel Grigori.

Mysterious and aloof, he captures Luce Price's attention from the moment she sees him on her first day at the Sword & Cross boarding school in sultry Savannah, Georgia. He's the one bright spot in a place where cell phones are forbidden, the other students are all screw-ups, and security cameras watch every move.
Even though Daniel wants nothing to do with Luce—and goes out of his way to make that very clear—she can't let it go. Drawn to him like a moth to a flame, she has to find out what Daniel is so desperate to keep secret . . . even if it kills her.

Dangerously exciting and darkly romantic, Fallen is a page turning thriller and the ultimate love story.

There were mixed reviews about this book and I can see why.

Personally I thought it was fantastic. It took a little while to get into the main story but it wasn't as slow as I thought it would be. It was a brilliant read from start to finish and I highly recommend it to YA readers.

HOWEVER.....

Spoiler:

But apart from that I thought it was amazing and certainly made my top 5 favourite books Fallen Icon_biggrin

I was warned against this book. I haven't started reading it yet because I forgot it at school over this break, but I'm a bit concerned about not being able to read it because of being uninterested. But I will give it a go because you guys like it. I'll let you know how it goes. Razz
